You are faced with a very interesting problem, one that seems to have no workable solution without some serious renovation in your master or guest bathroom space: How to add storage space without taking away from the visual appeal of the room or starting a major renovation. There is an answer that works really well as a space-saving storage solution, and that is the bathroom vanity tower. It is installed directly over your existing vanity, takes up no additional floor space, and works well with most decor styles.

When to Install the Bathroom Vanity Tower

Bathroom vanity towers can be included when bathroom is installed but you can also add them at a later date without a lot of fuss and in-depth labor. In fact, in most cases they are very simple to install even for someone without any home decorating or renovation experience, and this is not a project that you will need a contractor to finish. A vanity tower can easily be added to the space simply by following the manufacturer’s instructions

Where to Find the Tower

Most manufacturers of bathroom vanities also offer coordinating towers, and it could be as simple as contacting the company that made your vanity to find a matching tower that coordinates perfectly with your decor. When that is not possible for whatever reason (i.e. the company is no longer in business or does not offer one for your vanity style), head to your local home improvement store to discover what options are available. Chances are good that you will easily find something that works with your decor and is still very easy to assemble and install. You could also opt to have something custom-made to match your vanity or decor style more closely, so long as you are willing and able to pay a little extra for the custom piece.

Size is Negotiable

You’ll find vanity towers that are designed to work with single vanities and double vanities; they may be installed to the center of a double sink unit or to one side of a single sink vanity. Of course a larger unit provides more storage and a unit that fits the scale of your bathroom and existing vanity is an excellent way to add storage to a master bathroom or a small guest bath that currently has no storage at all. They do not rob you of any floor space, since they typically mount on top of the existing vanity.

Many Style Options

Shelving is not the only option for a bathroom vanity tower either, and you could choose cabinetry for more private storage. You could also opt for lighting to make the space feel brighter and more open as well; lighting can be customized to highlight items on open shelves or behind glass. In addition, you’ll find custom options that may include frosted or decorative glass fronts, roll out shelving, roll up door, tilt-out doors, lazy susans and more. You can even choose a vanity tower with a mirrored front to add the illusion of space and light to your bathroom, as well as an extra space to apply makeup. The decorative styles of vanity towers are varied as well, so whether your bathroom is decorated with beach metal wall decor or some other kind of bathroom metal wall hangings, you are sure to find a vanity that fit your style.
