Carpet is a functional and versatile addition for the floors in your home, and is an ideal choice for any room that does not see a lot of moisture or extremely high traffic. This makes carpeting an excellent choice for the living spaces in your home, such as living room, bedroom, media room, and den; although, carpet is not a great choice for the dining room, bathroom, kitchen, due to moisture, food and drinks, and very high traffic volume.

When it comes to bedroom decor, carpet is a wonderful, soft and comfortable option. There are many carpet and wall color combinations for the bedroom, but here are a few ideas to help spark your design creativity:

Neutral Combinations

The vast majority of homeowners choose some combination of neutrals for the bedroom, since these are calming, relaxing choices that are easy to pair and offer a wide variety of accessory options. More vibrant and exciting colors can then be added as accessories and accents to give the room a more personal and individualized environment. When you get the notion to change, simply change the accessories to create a whole new look that still coordinates with your carpet and wall color combination.

Browns, some neutral shades of green, white and off-white, and pastel shades of yellow are great options for a neutral color palette. To add a more contemporary feel, use white and cool shades of blue or gray, making sure to add life and warmth with other colors in your bedroom.

Color Contrasts

For the more modern and contemporary looks that are so popular on television home décor shows, choose striking color contrasts that work well with your furniture and décor. Bold shades on the wall paired with neutrals or even black or white carpet are great examples of color contrasts between the carpet and walls, but you can go the opposite and choose bold on the floor with the contrast on the walls as well.

Be aware that color contrasts are very easy to pair with accessories in many different colors, but it may not be as easy to change the look of the room without covering or changing one of the shades. It is often a better choice to put the more vibrant color on the walls in these cases, so that you can easily change the look of the room by changing paint instead of being force to rip up carpet and install something new.

Texture and Color Combinations

Combining unique colors and textures will give the room a modern feel, and it can create a cohesive flow in the bedroom and adjacent room, such as a bathroom or sitting room in a master suite. You can utilize a texture that is used in a different room for the walls, such as a faux marble look, and then keep it conservative on the flooring in case you want to remodel in the future; You can also delve into more daring color and stylistic options with wall decor; from modern abstract pieces to traditional, or rustic Western metal decor like eagle metal art, you can add whatever flavor you like without impacting floor or wall colors. This is a great option if you are hoping to sell the house, and makes it very easy for potential buyers to envision what they could do to personalize the space.
